Air Arabia Egypt is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our team in Cairo. This is an opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the safety standards that protect our passengers, crew, and operations. If you have a keen eye for risk management, a passion for aviation safety, and the analytical skills to turn data into actionable insights, we invite you to become a key part of our commitment to operational excellence.

Your Purpose: Guardian of Our Safety Culture

In this role, you will work alongside the Safety Manager to implement, monitor, and continuously improve our Safety Management System (SMS) and Emergency Response Plan (ERP). You will be the driving force behind safety reporting, incident investigations, and risk assessment across all operational areas. More than just compliance, your mission is to foster a proactive safety culture—one where every team member feels empowered to contribute to a safer workplace. From the tarmac to the maintenance hangar, your vigilance will help ensure that Air Arabia Egypt remains a leader in safe, reliable air travel.

    What You'll Be Responsible For?

Your days will be varied and impact-driven, involving a wide range of safety-critical tasks:

    • Safety Reporting & Investigation: Maintain the voluntary reporting database and initiate incident investigations through established channels. Validate and follow up on all open reports, ensuring timely closure with appropriate corrective actions.
    • Risk Management: Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all operational areas—including ground handling sites and maintenance activities. Help update the Risk Register on an ongoing basis to reflect emerging hazards.
    • Compliance & Equipment: Ensure the availability, proper use, and certification of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
    • Data Analysis: Perform statistical analysis of hazards, incidents, and safety events to identify trends and contributing factors. Use these insights to recommend preventive measures.
    • Emergency Response: Support the development, implementation, and continuous updating of the Emergency Response Program (ERP). Coordinate drills, simulations, and preparedness activities to ensure readiness.
    • Safety Promotion: Assist in designing and delivering safety training, workshops, and awareness campaigns. Help disseminate safety-related information across the organization to reinforce a strong safety culture.
    • Documentation & Reporting: Review safety documents and manuals to ensure alignment with regulations. Prepare quarterly and monthly safety reports for approval by the Safety Manager.
    • Continuous Improvement: Lead or contribute to projects that enhance Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance. Stay informed about industry best practices to bring fresh ideas to the department.

    Who We're Looking For?

The ideal candidate is someone who combines technical knowledge with a calm, composed demeanor—especially when handling emergency situations. You should be comfortable analyzing complex data, communicating findings clearly, and collaborating across departments to drive meaningful change.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

    Education & Certifications:

    • An Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Control (OSHA) certificate.
    • SMS, Risk Management, Root Cause Analysis, or Quality Assurance certifications are a strong plus.

    Experience:

    • Hands-on experience in aviation Safety Management Systems and Emergency Response.
    • Familiarity with airside operations, including ground handling and maintenance activities.
    • Experience designing and delivering training programs, particularly in emergency response.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify hazards and recommend effective corrective actions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, for reporting and presentations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English—fluency is essential.
    • Public speaking and training delivery capabilities.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
    • Familiarity with Quality Assurance practices, including internal and external audits.
